His issue was a bit different, he was stuck on a black screen before windows loaded up with a blinking cursor on the top left. I restarted the pc and now it shows Gateway screen (with F2 Bios Menu and F10 Boot Menu). What would have been easier would have been to remove the hard drive, use a drive adapter and copy all of the info off the drive to another computer.
