I've always had the "Fry" (cap, risistor, Diode,IC whatever) brake, as in power one side none on the other, not be crossed so bad that its like direct contact Pos to I was able to turn on the computer, but it shut down after a few seconds (your notebook shuts off immediately) and the video never appeared on the screen. If you have two modules, try removing them one by one and test the laptop with each RAM stick separately. The laptop "sees" your USB mouse, so most likely there is nothing wrong with USB ports. Finally, the touchpad has an on/off button which allows you to turn it off while using a USB mouse or typing. The Inspiron was decidedly heavier and the plastic was more susceptible to scratches. My cousin unplugs the power surge it was plugged into. You have a good chance to fix your laptops by replacing this board. Do you have idea why my laptop wont start up normaly running under the turion cpu ?
When you hit the power button, lights come on and go right back out. And everything is small because of it. It does the exact same thing as the first entry above. Sometimes the Laptop shut down after 20 Minutes. now my laptop will only power on when it is plugged into an outlet. i took it to bits to see if ther was a fuse but i did not find one.
