mtphrNovember 18th, 2008, 04:23 AMhi. I just don't understand how when I run it without stretching, it's much MUCH smoother. Thanks Ecna. Maybe it's not detecting my monitor correctly? http://simplecoverage.org/warcraft-3/warcraft-3-weird-problem.php
Ng Oon-Ee I've solved this problem, posted a some-sort guide here. I'll check back with/for an answer.
I put everything on low settings and still the same result. May want to try without, search synaptic for compiz-fusion and use that icon to temporarily run Metacity. If this plays smoothly then be assured that there is no problem with your system, because this game can played with minimal CPU usage.
Download the Compiz Fusion Icon which you can use to easily toggle compiz on and off. So I suggest use the other solution stated in the post. There are no graphical glitches or anything like that. Thanks for the advice, 5kank, but I tried that and it didn't work.
To fix that, go to the 'Rotate Cube' settings, under 'Desktop' in the CompizConfig Settings Manager. I've now noticed that it does make some of the graphics a bit messy. The option to allow games to capture the mouse works in my version, making all the hacks in this thread unnecessary. http://www.geek.com/forums/topic/warcraft-3-tft-mouse-scroll-problem/ The picture you posted up indicates that you've set 1280x800 in what looks like a 1920x1200 virtual desktop.
But I have no idea what it was It just dissappeared and got back to normal. Sorry, there was a problem flagging this post. With all this done, you should have, as promised, a full-screen WC3 which is fully scrollable, useable alt-tab, and useable cube rotation via Ctrl-Alt-Mouse Drag or Ctrl-Alt-Arrow Keys. If you've found the effect that uses the bottom side of the panel, go into that effect's settings and check which specific command is binded (bound?) to that part of the
I'd look through all your Compiz effects for something which uses the bottom part of the screen as activation. hotweissJanuary 20th, 2009, 04:31 PMThe problem still persist after editing my refresh rate. The configuration from the first post didnt work for me at all. You can feel it fall into place every slight spin of the wheel; ie: its not a continuous smooth scroll, and thats intended, but I figured I'd say that in case

It's much better when the resolution is say 1280x1050, but it's not full screen when it is. My nvidia-settings contains a setting which forces AA for all apps, but unsure how that works out for Wine. I tried that and it doesn't work. his comment is here I haven't tried this yet, but I saw something that said the settings may have automatically been updated to be a dual-monitor setup causing the cursor to lag.
Any stuff marked ADDITIONAL EXPLANATIONS (in a quote box) is merely some background, not needed to get things working. It is available in my ppa (see link in signature). What's your system resolution?

Warcraft III via wine runs full-screen, alt-tab works but returning to WC3 you have artifacts and/or a black screen. 3. Thanks. The only way to get nice alt-tabing is by useing "-window" trigger at the end of the command.
