I had already used pagedefrag to eliminate (or at least reduce) fragmentation of the paging/swap file since I am not aware of any regular defrag tool being able to do so, You could try booting a PE Windows XP CD and run the defrag program from there - this would eliminate any possible issues in your curent Windows install.
