I saw the update appear briefly yesterday morning along with the Defender update, but nothing happened. Some people are very well adept at managing their own systems.

So, I once again ran Scan Disk, which was what I did when these problems first started (at that time, it said "no errors found"). although you get the file, I get an error "file not found" when attempting to install. And all went well with the lap top as well....just takes time. It took me half an hour, but it went perfect and now my laptop is up to date.
All of a sudden, I'm loaded with corrupt files that were not present before the up-grade, and Windows says they cannot fix them. So I uninstalled the driver for Conexant from the Device Manager, rebooted, and re-tried the upgrade to Windows 10 and this time it worked! So, I just shutoff the PC and went to bed. The folder and Registry key are re-generated automatically by Windows.
Goes through and then says "Failed to Install" and Removing Update. I am not a computer expert but can follow instructions. Reply James October 2, 2016 at 3:35 am # I have spent all day on this.
